CAMPUS SUMMARY
The University of Oregon is a comprehensive research university founded in 1876. We are a member of the elite Association of American Universities, and are the flagship institution in Oregon. With more than 80 majors of study to choose from, our 20,000 students enjoy top-notch academic programs in a medium-sized university offering personal attention and a sense of community.
Located in the lush Willamette Valley, the city of Eugene offers a beautiful backdrop for our university. You'll discover great coffee shops, bookstores and concert halls in a town that's a mix of small-town familiarity and big-city culture. You'll enjoy that we're an hour from the ocean, mountains and desert, and minutes from bike trails, rivers and sprawling parks.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
With 80 majors and six professional schools, the University of Oregon provides a vast breadth of fields to study. Some things to consider:
-The College of Education was recently ranked #1 in the country by U.S. News and World Report.
-The Department of Architecture and School of Music are consistenly among the nation's best.
-The Lundquist College of Business pioneered our sports marketing program. Business administration is currently the UO's most popular major, and completion of our new, state of the art facility is expected in Fall 2003.
-The UO developed the first academic, "green" organic chemistry labs in the country
